Hunger to Move Haiku

In one of our forums, many of you came up with terrific new words to describe the feeling of wanting to move, and in the Moving Meditation, you identified how your body wanted to move.  Now you creative types, here is your next challenge.  You remember the poetic form haiku?  These are short poems of three lines, with 5 syllables in the first and last lines, and 7 in the middle:

Too long at my desk
I feel a stretch coming on

Pebble in a pond

(OK, so it doesn't have to be good, just have fun with it!)

Write a haiku that captures the feeling of that hunger to move.

Here is the page developed from reader responses over the years:

Up the hill my heart
Sings out hard, fast, furious
Feet finish the song

-Martha Garvey Jr.
Where is my body
I once knew it, i think so
Where is that feeling

rivka warshawsky
Foot taps a rhythm
Cool grassy lake path calls me
I lace my shoes tight

-Linda Eaves
Must belly dance now!
Hips will no longer be still!
Wow, I can do this!

-Kara L.C. Jones
Can't refuse the drums
A belly is required
Women always danced

-Sara Wood
Here I am - inert,
Polished as stone. It calls
Like distant thunder.

-Rhianna Knapp
poised to dance alone
hips swaying to the music
beat moves my body
I can hear you call
Although you're just out of sight
Waiting there for me
Wind calling my name.
Freedom enlightens us all.
Run far from life's grief.
Hours at the computer
My body screams to be free
I stiffly rise.

-Delores George
Mind set on movement,
Body so tired but wants to start,
Outside birds are singing!

-Debbie Birdsall
A beat calls to me
And I must answer the call
Do not hold me back

-Sheryl Fairbairn
pushing the pedals
sweat streaking down my forehead
a smile breaks out

Immobility
experienced far too long
sets me in motion
How I long to dance!
I will blaze with pure movement
Stars bursting inside

-Joanna Y.
Muscles curled and stiff
Joints creaky lots of boredom
Dance swim play spin JOY!!

-Nicole M. Bliss
beat thumps in my ears
blood and nerves leap in echo
booty must follow!

-Ashley Ford
I am thankful for
the feeling i get after
I let myself walk
